Gigantor is a high level end game raiding guild whose goal is to be the top guild in PVE progression on the server. We are a group of experienced players with a high level of skill, knowledge and commitment.
II. Member expectations
Being part of Gigantor you are expected to:
- Farm all the potions and materials for the guild as it becomes necessary.
- Change your current talent spec to overcome or make encounters easier.
- Maintain a minimum of 85% raid attendance.
- Have a stable internet connection and PC (5fps and dropping out or laggy is unacceptable).
- A working microphone and access to Ventrilo.
- Be a friendly, generous, mature, patient and be able to follow instructions.
- Be thick skinned! (Able to take sometimes harsh, verbal criticism).
- Be dedicated and motivated to achieve everything the game has to offer (Hardcore).
III. Recruitment
The recruitment stage lasts as long as it takes for the guild to make up their mind on whether or not you're a good enough! (Usually about four weeks). As a recruit, you will accumulate DKP in the same way a member would. However, you will be unable to bid on items. If the item is not needed by any other member then you will be allowed to bid on the item.
This time spent as a recruit will allow the guild to get to know you and actually see if you're Gigantor material. Gigantor takes individual skill very seriously, so if you are not up to scratch then there will be no hesitation in removing you from the guild.
After the recruitment process, the officers and guild members will give feedback on your performance, your attitude and personality. Based upon this information the guild will decide if you are promoted to full member or not.
IV. Raid Schedule (May be changed for the benefit of the guild)
All times are AEST (Australian Eastern standard time)
Weds - 6:30pm-11:00pm
Thurs - 6:30pm-11:00pm
Sun - 6:30pm-11:00pm
Mon - 6:30pm-11:00pm
NB: During daylight savings raid times will be 7pm server time to 11:30pm.
V. Guild guidelines
General No No's:
- Bad language - Abusing or speaking in a derogatory manner in general chat (or any public chat) should be avoided AT ALL TIMES! Not only does it hurt the reputation of the players in the guild, but more than likely you will get reported anyway.
- Ninja looting - Gigantor has a zero tolerance policy on ninja's and will do its best to make sure you never see another raid on the server again.
- Not following the rules and regulations set by the guild. They are there to be followed!
- Whining about loot or being greedy with loot. It's an item, it will drop again, get over it!.
PVP is definitely encouraged; however raiding will take priority always! During any of our scheduled raids you would be expected to leave the BG immediately and be ready to start the raid on time. Once we're on top of end game content and time provides there will of course be plenty of pvp
Raiding - Be on time and at the right place (100% durability and all the necessary consumables). Always perform your best, don't play half arsed or don't bother coming. Afk'ing is okay, as long as it's at the right time and for no longer than 10 minutes. You must let an officer know when you are going afk! You must be in the correct Ventrillo channel. You must be motivated even if we are on our 100th wipe for the raid.
VI. DKP - Gigantor uses a silent bidding system
- You will accumulate a base number of points per hour for official raid content
- There will also be further 'bonus' dkp given at officer discretion on completion of a raid. For example: If a raid is smooth or if certain goals are achieved.
- When an item drops, the loot master will call for bids. All bids must be sent to the loot master via /tell within a minute of the loot call. Whoever bids the highest amount wins the item. The winner's raid points are reduced by the "winning bid" which is one point higher than the second highest bid.
- There will ALWAYS be a minimum bid. A player who does not have enough points can always bid the minimum.
- ONLY BID WHAT YOU ARE WILLING TO PAY FOR AN ITEM - No more, no less.
- Once you have bid that is final. You cannot under any circumstances take your bid back or bid again. If you win the bid these points will be deducted regardless of you accepting the item or not. Screenshots will be taken for future proof.
- Officers, the Raid leaders or the Guild Master may reserve specific items to hand out as they see fit. Such reservation must be made known to the raid members prior to the raid starting (the notice rule). This rule is primarily to help the guild complete requirements to access new content. NB: The notice rule may only be broken if a loot table is not known before the raid, this must also be announced prior to the raid.
- Officers, the Raid leaders or the Guild Master may reserve the right to not allow specific classes to bid on certain items. This is solely for guild progression. Such reservations must be made known to the raid members prior to the raid starting (the notice rule). NB: The notice rule may only be broken if a loot table is not known before the raid, this must also be announced prior to the raid.
- All crafting drop items must be handed to an officer before the raid ends. These will be kept in the guild bank for benefit of the guild.
- Collusion is ILLEAGAL! If someone asks you to collude with them to lower the cost of an item PLEASE INFORM AN OFFICER, who will then be responsible for the penalty.
- Please note that pretty much ANY discussion concerning the loot before it is decided can be considered collusion. Asking people whether they will bid or not, or even worse trying to convince them to not bid are terrible offences.
- However, knowing which items your fellow guild mates want before they drop does not fall under this section.
Here is an example of how a bid will occur:
Let's assume we're raiding the "glooming tunnels" and the 1st boss we kill the boogieman drops 1 set token item for mage/warlock/priest. 3 people make bids.
Billy the priest has 100 points, Chin the warlock has 90 points and Joe the mage has 80 points.
The loot master calls that bidding for the token is open
Billy sends a /tell to the loot master "40 points"
Chin sends a /tell to the loot master "70 points"
Joe sends a /tell to the loot master "minimum"
Chin will get the item for 41 points as the next highest was 40. Joe bided the minimum (for example in this case it could have been 25 points), this is the lowest possible bid.
If two people bid the same amount of points the player with the HIGHEST amount of EARNT DKP will win the item. In the unlikely event that both members have the same earned DKP it would then become a /roll 1-100 to see who gets the item
Players are responsible for knowing how much dkp they have. If you bid more dkp than you have you will be given a dkp penalty.
Being late to raids, multiple afk's or afk's at the wrong time will also result in severe penalties. Follow instructions if you're told to be quiet on vent do it! If you do anything to result in a wipe on a known encounter after being told multiple times you may be penalised minus dkp. Repeat offenders may be removed from the guild.
